An interesting idea . . . that the adoption of a very young child in Sicily in 1989 had its roots in the Nazi takeover of Europe decades earlier. Heavy themes such as parental love, morality in wartime come into play. Certainly not among the best of British mysteries that I've read but enjoyable. No violence, no murder, just a puzzle to be solved.
