I loved the first 11 books and was very excited for Omen Machine to be released. I pre-ordered it since I already had purchased all the other books and didn't want my collection lacking. I did enjoy the book but like most the others was kinda worried about the "machine" aspect being too modern for this type of series. It still strikes me as kinda strange to see working mechanisms in a book of this type but it worked out ok. I thought it was way to short, you never hardly got to know the villain behind all the trouble and it really left alot more questions then answers, it is hard to appreciate a good villain when you barely get a good look at him. I had not realized that this was gonna be a continuing book either but the closer I got to the end I realized that it had to be. I would have waited to buy the book had I known it was gonna have a cliff-hanger ending, now I have to wait to see what happens for who knows how long. It really seemed kinda slow at the beginning but I am glad it did not repeat over and over again the same old tired lines from previous books that you already have heard before, even when Kahlan used her confessor power it was relatively short and not 2 paragraphs long. All in all it is good book but not near as good as some of the others before it, and I am still looking forward to see what happens next.
