So, this book is great. I liked it a lot; it's clever and smart, and the style is very nice. The plot moves along and features a lot of compelling characters, and the last 100 pages of the book frequently made me throw it down in wonder or puzzlement or awe and then pick it right back up again because I didn't want to stop reading even though I needed a little time to map all the connections. It's roughly about the future, but also muses on morality and government and weightier issues without being heavy handed or overbearing. There are lots of great lines too. /gushing.... there are also lots of strange parts, and more than once I stopped reading to wonder where he was going with it. Also, I am not completely satisfied by the end, though it is a satisfying kind of unsatisfying (namely, it leaves a few loose ends you ought to be able to tie up, but also lots of large 'future' questions).
