I could read this book over and over and over. It is on my Top Ten list of everything I've ever read. What I learned? How friendship can transform your life. UPDATE: I have just re-read this book for a Book Club and it inspired me all over again. In the past when I have read this book, I enjoyed it for the beauty of Stegner's writing and his insightful look at friendship. Now, a few years later, I am able to read the book with fresh eyes and experience another dimension of it. Clearly, the book is about relationships---primarily friendship, but it also deftly illustrates that very few mortals have a perfect life. No matter how gifted; no matter how privileged; no matter how successful, some rain will fall. I've recommended this novel to many people over the years, but have never had the opportunity to discuss it with a book group. This winter, I'll discuss it with two different groups and it will be fascinating to hear other people's perspectives on it.
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! John Green is my FAVORITE author and his books just keep on getting BERTER and BETTER!!!!
